Finals this week:
First Semi: All Stars
v Terminators
Second Semi: Bulldogs
v Rabbitohs
In A grade this week there were 2 close matches. The All Stars had a thrilling win over the
Bulldogs. For the winners, Ken Cole was
the star winning all his 3 games. Since
his return Ken has been in brilliant form. The losers were best served by James Turner who won 2 games. Each team won a doubles match. The other game
was just as exciting. The Rabbitohs had
a good win. For the winners, Robert
Mcintosh was in good form winning all his 3 games. Robert’s form has been up
and down, so this was a welcome return to form. For the losers, Rodney Blake won 2 games and Brice Bishop notched
another big scalp in beating Michael Turner. Brice is getting better all the time.
With the finals starting this week, I always feel for the
teams that miss the finals. So to the
Canberra Raiders, namely John Leask,
a steady and reliable performer, Megan Bishop, a promising youngster, and
Graeme Mccarten,a quiet achiever - thank you for your contribution to the
competition and better luck next comp.

Finals this week:
First Semi: Sharks v
Gunners
Second Semi: Tigers v
Marauders
In B grade the first game was a big victory for the
Gunners. Peter Mowle and Robert Mettam
won all their games. This was really pleasing for Robert as he works really
hard at improving his game. They also won both doubles. The Doggies tried really hard, but were no
match for the awesome Gunners. In the
other game, a close battle, the Sharks prevailed. For the winners, Andrew Howlett won all his 3
games. Andrew is a youngster who
continues to get better all the time. He, like Brice and Megan Bishop in A
grade, all have great promise. For the
losers Marauders, Wayne King won 2 games. With the finals starting this week, I like wish all players the best of
luck. The team to miss the finals in B
grade, The Doggies, deserve a special mention. The team, which consisted of Michael Kounnas, the spinning guru, Wally
Buckland, a veteran who gives his all every week, and Tony McWhirter, a good
trier, didn’t win a game all comp. However
these guys came every week, tried their hardest, always having a good time and
never complained. Thank you guys.
