Round 1 Preview.
Round 1 sees 4 matches at Mahoney and one at Wollongong. We'll go through the games in chronological order.

9AM GAME - Bondi Shamrocks vs UNSW-Easts Stingrays @ Mahoney
The first game of the season features the 5th placed team from last year versus the 6th placed team from last year. It could be evenly matched but with line ups uncertain for both sides I might withhold judgement. Currently the Shamrocks have a 3-1 record over the Stingrays, but with the Stingrays have Jemma Still in their team and rumours that some of their retiree players coming onboard, the game looks potentially to be a lineball game.
11AM GAME - Auburn Tigers vs Macquarie University Warriors @ Mahoney
This is a game where the newest club on the block takes on the Warrior girls. So far Auburn have played a few trial games to get their players used to Aussie Rules and have impressed quite a few people, so I'm going to tip the new girls on the block will win their first game on the weekend.
12PM GAME - Wollongong Saints vs Southern Power @ North Dalton Park, Towradgi
In the F6 Challenge, fierce local rivals from the Shire and the Gong will battle it out for local bragging rights. So far the Power are 2-0 record over the Saints and won their trial game against each other. Unless the Saints pull something out of the magicians hat, I'm going to predict a win for Southern Power.
1PM GAME - Western Wolves vs Sydney University Bombers @ Mahoney
Last year Sydney University completely dominated the Wolves but it was a lot tighter affair for the Bombers in their trial game in the Riverina between the two sides. It's going to be an interesting game as the Bombers have a few of their stars on crutches. I'm still going to tip a tight win to the Bombers.
3PM GAME - Newtown Breakaways vs Balmain Dockers @ Mahoney
The Grand Final rematch sees the Premiers Newtown defending their title against the Dockers. With preparations of the two contrasting strongly it'll be interesting to see which approach works. Since I have seen Balmain play this year at Bargo, I'm going to go with form and predict that last year's grand finalists have some more motivation and it'll be the Dockers for the win on Saturday.
