The Sale and District Junior Football Association has secured a major partner in Maffra and District Community Bank Branch.
The branch has signed on as naming rights sponsor of the competition, which will now be known as the Maffra and District Community Bank Branch Sale and District Junior Football Association.
Maffra and District Community Bank Branch Chair Rob Christie said the Board was delighted to become the association’s major sponsor.
“Sport plays an important role in the development of young people, it teaches them team work and problem solving skills, improves their physical health and self esteem,” Christie said.
“We are proud to be able to support this program.”
The news comes as a major boost for SDJFA clubs and members following a recent decision to outsource the association’s administration and governance to AFL Gippsland.
AFL Gippsland region general manager Travis Switzer said the partnership with the Maffra and District Community Bank Branch was exciting for football in the region.
“Community Bank branches are great supporters of local sport and communities and we’re very thankful to Renee and the team at the Maffra and District Branch for their contribution,” Switzer said.
“These sorts of partnerships help to minimise administrative challenges and enable us to focus on increasing participation and creating a fun and safe environment for kids to play football.”
The Maffra and District Community Bank Branch Sale and District Junior Football Association season kicked off late last month, with more than 600 children expected to pull on the boots throughout the course of the year.
