MAY DAY REGATTA - in conjunction with the Arrow and Arafura Association’s Queensland State Titles.

On the weekend Keppel Bay Sailing Club held its annual Mayday Regatta in conjunction with the Arrow and Arafura Association’s Queensland State Titles. In total there were 45 boats out on the water displaying some incredible sailing skills. Many competitors came from far and wide, stretching from Townsville to Brisbane. With the weather challenging the sailors with only slight breezes averaging at 9kt with gusts of wind at 11kt.There were many classes of boats out on the water ranging from Laser, Vipers, Arrows, Arafura’s and many more.

Congratulations to all competitors but a big congratulations to our own, Daryl Skinner for taking out the Arrow State Title for the 23rd time.

Other KBSC sailors competing in the Arafura State Championships were:

Lucas Johnson, placing first, and

Royce Powe, placing second.   Competition between these two sailors was extremely close, with Lucas Johnson winning on countback.
