PREPARE FOR DELAYS

With an overlap in games for both Junior Soccer and Junior Touch for approx three weeks, people need to be aware that there will be delays in traffic from Lakes Creek Road down to the fields with many hundreds of cars trying to get to the two venues at the same time. Please leave a little earlier, be patient and have an enjoyable morning.more

The Association would like to make it very clear that NO player will be excluded from any Rockhampton Junior Representative team now or in the future, based on which team they play for in our fixtures. EVERY player who attends the Junior Development Program will be eligible for selection.more

QLD TOUCH SURVEY RE FUTURE JUNIOR STATE CUP

Qld Touch are conducting a survey to gauge the response to a suggestion that the event be moved a day forward commencing on the Thursday and finishing on the Saturday to allow the Sunday free for return to school preparations etc. This to take effect from 2016. REFEREES LIST FOR JUNIOR STATE CUP

With a record number of teams from Rockhampton (17) this year going to Hervey Bay to compete at the Junior State Cup in July, Rocky Touch has had an enormous task to find 17 wonderful, fabulous people to come along with us to referee. POSITIVE OR ITS POINTLESS

Several years ago, we applied for Rocky Junior Touch to become part of the Qld Gov Positive or Its Pointless program. Unfortunately, Touch is not considered one of the main five sports in this state and we were turned down. The program included a small amount of funding to use towards applying the principles of the program which simple states 'LET'S MAKE JUNIOR SPORT POSITIVE EVERYDAY'.........more

JUNIOR STATE CUP - HERVEY BAY - 11TH/12TH/13TH JULY

The Junior State Cup is held in Hervey Bay 11th/12th/13th July. Players selected in the Rockhampton representative sides will need to organise accommodation as early as possible. With a shortage already confirmed, we suggest that you check out Maryborough as well - even Burrum Heads might offer an alternative being only 15 minutes drive from HB.more

JUNIOR DEVELOPMENT DAY A HUGE SUCCESS

The rescheduled Junior Development Day was held on Sunday 16th February. The event was a HUGE success with over 230 children participating in Touch skills and drills throughout the morning. Higher participation numbers in the girls age divisions this year is exciting and our squad coaches are looking forward to the continuing Development Program.....more

JUNIOR DEVELOPMENT DAY

Junior Development Day is on Sunday 9th February 2014 and is open to ALL children (9-16 yrs)who would like to learn more TOUCH skills. The day will commence at 9am (come at 8.30am to register) and will go until around 12.30. Children are asked to wear a hat, shoes and sunscreen and bring along a waterbottle. Cold water is on tap and morning tea will be provided. There is no cost involved.......more

U14 BOYS GET A START ON DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

The Development Program for the U14 Boys will kick off early with a session this Sunday, 12th January, from 3pm - 5pm on the bottom touch fields (Cyril Connell Fields). ALL boys turning 13 or 14 in 2014, regardless of skill level or experience, are welcome to come along to the sessions to learn great new Touch skills. To avoid confusion, a map has been drawn indicating which end of the field is A and which is B. The game listed first on the draw will play on A and the second, on B. TRAINING ON THE BOTTOM FIELDS?

Teams training on the bottom fields are asked to make sure that ALL rubbish is taken with you when you leave. If we have to continue to pick up discarded bottles, rubbish etc, all fields will be closed to training. It's a simple request and those in charge should be able to spread the word to the players and parents who are attending trainings.

QLD GOV - GET STARTED PROGRAM

GET STARTED assists children (up to 18yrs) who can least afford and would otherwise benefit from joining a sport by providing vouchers up to the value of $150 to join. Rockhampton Touch Assoc is registered with the program and will accept vouchers as payment for player registration. We then redeem the amount of $60 per voucher. These vouchers cover player registration only - no club/uniform fees!more

We will be conducting two separate seasons of Junior Touch in 2013 - Season 1 (commencing 8th March) being held on Friday evenings and including U10s, U12s and U14s. ROCKY TOUCH REGISTERED WITH "GET STARTED" FUNDING PROGRAM

Rockhampton Touch is registered with the state government "Get Started" funding program which gives financial assistance for children from 5 to 18 who can least afford it to participate in sports. Club or team organisers who receive a voucher (sample attached) can accept it as payment of registration and pass onto the association. More...more

A reminder also that the complex is circled by a 'ONE WAY' ring road.  The ring road provides plenty of parking with direct access to fields 8, 9 and 10.
