The NAB AFL U16 Championships begin for Vic Metro and Vic Country this weekend with the teams facing off at Simonds Stadium from 11.30am on Sunday.

Vic Metro is in the box seat to take out the NAB AFL U18 Championships title after defeating the Allies in a hard-fought battle on Friday.

Tonight the first of 12 TAC Cup Local Legends were awarded, with Northern Knights long time trainer, Dominique Conte recognised by the TAC and AFL Victoria

A win for Vic Metro against the Allies this Friday would go a long way towards handing David Flood’s team the 2016 NAB AFL U18 Championships title.

Sam Fowler has continually defied his small stature in rising from local football last year to representing the Dandenong Stingrays and now Vic Country.
