Day two of the Oceania Sport Education Program (OSEP) Zone 1 Review Workshop held December 2-5 at the Guam National Olympic Committee conference room began with a rousing dance to the hit song “Head, shoulders, knees and toes.” Participants from the OSEP programs of Palau, Yap, Pohnpei and Marshall Islands then recounted their take-aways from Day 1 and attempted to sum up their Day 1 experience

The OSEP Assessor and Presenter Course is part of OSEPs trainer courses. Members of the Samoa Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee completed a the course around early this year which was facilitated by Natanya Potoi Ulia, ORADOs Program Manager.

Oceania MOSO IV is a recognised OSEP National sport administration course also known as Advanced Sport Management Course.

Engaging in Partnerships - KNOC and KIT

At the recent ONOC Annual General Assembly OSEP prepared two case studies as part of its presentation to the 200+ delegates that came from all over Oceania. Case Study 1 highlighted the partnership between Kiribati National Olympic Committee and Kiribati Institute of Technology as a National Olympic Committee and a local Training Provider for the latter.

Extraodinaires rock Oceania MOSO IV

An enthusiastic, diverse group of 14 personalities from the pacific arrived into Tonga on flight Oceania MOSO IV. It is the first stop of a three location journey begining from 20 October to 27 October 2014.

The second level of sports administration course called MiSO was held at Fiji Olympic House and was a success.

New inclusion - Athletes Rep

The Athletes representative on the commission is dual PNG and American national Andrew Lepani. Lepani is currently the Manager - Sports Development with the PNG Olympic Committee.

His involvement will provide a greater opportunity for athletes to promote sport training & development for its support team (coaches and administrators)

Temporary Events Assistant

OSEP is looking for an Events assistant to start immediately for 9 weeks. The focus of the role is to coordinate the training logistics for the April OSEP community educators course to be held in Suva.

Paintball activity - an analogy of strategic planning

Oceania MOSO III participants were part of a unique paintball skirmish game after unit 1 of their training. With a heavy focus on fun and physical activity given the long hours of training, the activity was an opportunity to bring home the importance of strategic planning, developing SMART objectives and strategies and operationalising their plans to reach their vision.

System Development Grant launched

A grant program is available to the 15 Pacific Islands NOC that are members of ONOC.

This funding project is designed to encourage NOC's to submit proposals that are developed in consultation with partners in their countries.
