2011/12 Summer Competition concluded with the last of the Semi Finals & the Grand Finals being played on Monday Night at Adcock Park. 6 divisions were contested with all Grand Finals being close games with exciting finishes. In the Women’s Division Te Whanua defeated Shards 5 touch downs to 3. The Mixed Division 2 Grand Final was a great game that went into full time with both teams having scored 3 tries each. It was Damian Guilbert that broke the deadlock a couple of minutes into extra time making a break on the halfway line to run 35 metres to score the winning try. In Mixed 1st Division both teams defended strongly, but it was the Sneaky Cheesies who scored the deciding try to defeat Ball Breakers 2-1. The Men’s Division 3 Grand Final was played out between the competition front runners Central Coast Home Loans and the fast finishing Central Coast Adventist School. Experience held out in the end with the Central Coast Home Loans winning 3 tries to 1. In the 2nd Division Men’s it was last years premiers Site Trada up against the Home Girls from Terrigal. Nash Beeby was the standout player and lead Home Girls to victory. Score was 3 tries to 2. The Men’s 1st Division Grand Final was again contested between rivals Forries Blue & Forries Black. Black went to an early lead scoring in the first set of six. Forries Blue hit back 5 minutes later with a try to John Dalton. Dean Wilbow & Dylan Hennessey kept Black with their noses in front to go to a 4 -2 lead but with 2 quick tries to Blue’s Paul Farah the scores were locked at 4 all with minutes remaining. It was the Worlds Best Player Dylan Hennessy who broke the deadlock with minute left in the game to secure the win for Forries Black.
