Girls Football 2015 Information

The league is currently organising an Information Night for Girls Football. Inviting all girls from the Peninsula to find out more about girls footy, where they can play and also the pathways that are set up for girls keen to play. We are hoping for this to be held at the end of October or early November depending on venue availability.more

Under 15's Boys School Championships 2014

Wrap up of the Australian 15 and Under championships in NSW sees the Vics winning the gold medal. With a 9 point win over Qld. Great work with Luke Davies/Uniacke taking out best player in the competition and receiving All Australian Honours. Team member Hunter Clark also performed terrific.more

Under 14's and 15's development squad training resumes this Wednesday 2nd July evening at 5:30pm at Mornington Football Club. Main st, Mornington. Night Football for Juniors at Balnarring

Balnarring and Somerville got together and organised the round to start late afternoon at the Balnarring Reserve. The newly installed lights did the job for the under 15's match. Thanks to Geoff Tozer and Gavin Taylor for putting on an execellent event.more

Stingray Training at MPJFL

Had an excellent session with 84 boys from across the MPJFL coming together on Wednesday the 14th May at the Mornington FC. Mark Wheeler and a number of Stingray coaches assisted with and light informative training session. Then up with the boys, parents and club coaches for an insight about the Dandeneong Southern Stingrays. Greatful for Mark coming down and going into so much informative detail.more

Worlds Greatest Shaves at Somerville JFC

With hair trends in juniors testing all the boundaries. The "The Top Knot", etc, etc. Noticed that Under 14's Development Squad members Nick Dodemaide and Jack Whitehouse rolled up to training with shaved heads.
They shaved their heads on April 27th to support the Leukaemia Foundations "Worlds Greatest Shave", joined by their Coach Chris Vincent. Together they raised $1315. They are gratefulmore

MPJFL State selection Under 18's Youth Girls

More exciting news with Georgia Walker, Lizze Muir and Jordy Allen making the Under 18's Youth Girls Metro side, that will play in the National Championships next week in Canberra. Both Georgia and Lizze play with the Mornington Peninsula Youth Girls side. Jordy Allen is an Under 14's from the Rye JFC. This is a great effort from the girls to make it through to the Vic side. MPJFL State selection Under 16's

SORRENTO Junior Football Club’s Max Kleverkamp has been named in the initial Under 16 Vic Country squad.
He will participate in a series of training camps and trial matches in a bid to earn a Big V jumper.
The national U16 championships will be played on the Gold Coast from July 5-11.
Kleverkamp is a member of the Dandenong Stingrays’ U16 squad, which has two in the state squad from the MPJFL.more

AFL South East to Review Junior to Senior Transition Structure

AFL South East would like to inform all stakeholders within the South East Region of the formation of a Working Party to review the structure of football through the 16-20 year old age groups. AFL South East has invited all league stakeholders to be part of the Youth Football Working Party (YFWP) which will review whether current structures ideally manage the transition from junior to senior footbmore
