On Monday 16th and Tuesday 17th February 2015 the BL&GFA hosted almost the entire Port Power squad of players, coaches and the CEO for their annual Community Camp. The camp was declared a big success with the players attending many schools and hospitals in the BL&G area, meeting as many of the community members as they could.
Monday saw the Power squad host a kids coaching session held at the Nuriootpa Rovers football Club with the Robert Zerella Academy players getting a chance to be coached by some Port Power greats including Josh Carr. Congratulations to the Nuriootpa Rovers Football Club officials for hosting this event.
Highlight of the camp was the dinner held at the Vine Inn on Monday night when over 220 people attended and took the opportunity to meet and chat with the players and coaches.
A number of quality items were auctioned including jumpers signed by Power Captain Travis Boak and the entire squad, cricket bats signed by Darren Lehmann and Nathan Lyon, a football and some signature Barossa Valley wines in Magnum bottles. Over $5000 was raised during the night which will used for Junior Development within the BL&G.
Congratulations to all those involved in the Community Camp!
