Congratulations to the following referees who have been selected to represent Noosa at the 2012 State Championships:  Under 14 girls Ashleigh Hopkins,  Under 14 boys Xander Evans,  Under 16 Girls Izzy Anderson, Under 16 Boys  Byron Thomas.  These referees have the unique opportunity to have every game evaluated by qualified and experienced evaluators - giving them many months of education in just 5 days.

Without the strong representation of these quality referees Noosa would be unable to participate in State Championships - so thank you for your commitment to Representative basketball and good luck at the Championships -

Basketball Queensland Referee Matrix

As most of you are aware Basketball Australia have changed their polices and procedures for Referee Education.

The Apprentice and Community referee courses are very good iniatives. The introduction of these two courses have reduced the burden on our officials.

The Level 0 Referees course has now been split into three seperate catergories. The Development course is the final stage of the old Level 0 course and has been modified to help associations with the transition from Green shirt certification to the local junior certification.

The referee coordinators are responsible for the assessment of these officials and provide the skill and knowledge to judge their performance.

For officials to move from the Level 0 through to the Level 1 certification, BQ has provided a career path for our officials.

The previous Level 1 course was designed for officials to learn the rules and apply them when assigned to a higher standard of game.

The skill and knowledge of the players required this standard.
