ONLINE LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT PORTAL:

Netball NZ have been working to improve their online Learning and Development Portal.   There are plenty of resources and online learning opportunities for coaches.  To get started you need to register so that you can log in.  Find out more and access the portal by clicking on this banner:

OTHER COACH DEVELOPMENT OPTIONS:

Alongside the Netball NZ pathway, there are also other options for coaches to learn and network:

  • Local informal (Fill your Kete) workshops are a great way to get inspiration and practical ideas from experienced coaches.
  • Netball New Zealand's Coach Starter Resource is available via the portal above for $10 or as a hard copy in Netball NZ's online shop for $34.99.  It is a new resource (2019) that is an ideal starting point for new secondary school and club coaches.  The resource includes session plans with skill development and tactics for a team for the full season.
  • Observe TWoR Pulse team trainings - ask us for details in 2021
  • Get involved with our Year 7&8 Player Development Programme - we can buddy you up with an experienced coach to work with a group of players.
Keep an eye on our facebook page and our coach calendar for opportunities.

COMMUNITY COACH AWARD

Workshops in the Community Award space are most suited to those coaching players aged 12+.   There are two levels - CCA 1 (Technical) and CCA 2 (Tactical).  You are welcome to pick and choose workhops that interest you most, or to attend the full set to gain your CCA 1 or CCA 2 award.

Registration for CCA worskhops is via Netball Central Zone.  Click HERE to view the registration form with dates and times for upcoming workshops at Wellington, Hutt Valley, Kapiti and Kapi Mana.

Coaches identify sharing ideas and collaborating with other coaches as one of the main benefits of attending NNZ workshops, so don't be shy to mix it up and visit other centres!  Workshops are 2 - 2.5 hours.

To receive your certificate from NNZ, an application form needs to be completed and authorised, please contact us for assistance.  It is a good idea to keep a record of workshops attended, especially if you are attending at other Centres.  We keep a database of the progress of our local Hutt coaches and rely on the workshop sign in sheets to keep this up to date.
