BACKGROUND

The Bendigo Basketball Association (BBA), their representative teams (Braves & Junior Braves) or Domestic clubs are always on the look out for Referees, Score Table Officials, Coaches, Team Managers, general Volunteers and Committee Members.

From time to time paid positions are also available which will be listed below.

The structure of the BBA is that the Board of the BBA oversee the Domestic Competition, Braves and Junior Braves teams. There are also sub-committees that assists the BBA with operations. These sub-committees are the Braves Committee, Junior Braves Committee and Domestic Competitions Committee.

Within these committees the BBA has Bendigo Stadium employ staff who assist with the on-going management of these many different areas. They work side by side with the committees and other volunteers for the benefit of the basketball community.

Current Positions Available 

  • Score Table Officials - CLICK HERE for the brochure if you want the best seat in the house and get paid. 
  • Referees - The BBA Domestic Competition has in excess of 400 teams and 100 referees are always in urgent need for more officials. Great way to participate in the sport, stay fit and be paid to do it. Referee Courses are run frequently during the year.   • Volunteers and other roles - The BBA via its many stakeholders has some great opportunities for volunteers to assist our community in many numbers of ways. The experiences may even assist you with work experience and the like. Some of our paid basketball staff were once upon a time volunteers as well and still continue to give time. Roles around the BBA fraternity are wide ranging such as:

- Board Members of the BBA.

- Sub-committee members of the Braves Committee, Domestic Comps Committee or Junior Braves Committee.

- Mascots for Braves games.

- Ushers, raffle sellers, door staff and game day operations at Braves games.

- Team Managers and Coaches in our Junior Braves program.

- Coaches of a Domestic basketball team.

- Committee people within one of our Domestic clubs.

- Assisting with major sporting events at the Bendigo Stadium, such as an international basketball or netball match, WNBL pre-season event and many more similar type events.
