Event Details
Previous gold medallists in the sport of Indoor Volleyball at the Arafura Games have included Macau, New Caledonia and South Australia; many of these teams are expected to return in 2009.
Separate men's and women's competitions will again be offered. One entry per competition per region can be accepted. Entries must be endorsed by the relevant State or National Volleyball Association.
The Tournament will be in a round robin format. Due to the popularity of this event it is recommended that teams intending to enter do so early.
Each team is required to supply a referee preferably of at least a national grading to assist with the officiating throughout the competition. The competition is also a great opportunity for officiating development. Any team not able to meet this requirement must contact the co-ordinator as early as possible.
Event Location
In 2009 Indoor Volleyball is returning to the Marrara Indoor Stadium (MIS). MIS is a superb air-conditioned venue with ample seating and amenities for players. MIS is one of the main hubs of the games and is within walking distance to some of the other sports being played in the games.
Event Rules
The tournament will be played in accordance with Federation of International Volleyball (FIVB) rules in force at the time of the event, except where modified by the event organisers.
