2014 Summer Season – Junior Club Championships
10th October 2014 to April 2015
Welcome to the University of Sunshine Coast Basketball Club (USCBC) for the 2014 Summer Season the Junior Club Championships. This year we had our 6th Birthday in June and we are continuing to build on our strong foundations that started our club by Mrs Joanne McCormick back in June 2008.
Our club has seen growth of about 100 new members per year and the 2014 Summer Season will look no different as more and more players and teams register to play in our competition. To combat this we have will be playing out of two venues on a Friday night to ensure all our junior competition is played on the Friday night. Teams will be spread over the five courts and will hopefully stop any late games for teams on a consistent basis. Our second venue will be Sunshine Coast Grammar and occasionally we will have to use another as a replacement.
This season we have adapted the age groups for our members and allow a smoother transition across our competitions for all our members. Also the introduction to an all new under 11 competition and Aussie Hoops programs that will be held at USC Sports Stadium all year round as well in your local school.

JUNIOR CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS - COMPETITION HOURS
- Fridays 4.00pm-9.30pm – U13s and U19s (Round 1 = 10th October)
U13s – Born 2003-2004
U15s – Born 2001-2002
U17s – Born 1999-2000
U19s – Born 1997-1998
- Saturdays 8.30am-11.30am – U8s and U11s
U8s – Born 2007-2010 (Aussie Hoops)
U11s – Born 2005-2006
- Thursdays 3.45pm and 4.45pm – U10s Aussie Hoops
Girls Only Aussie Hoops 3.45-4.45pm
Boys Only Aussie Hoops 4.45-5.45pm

HOW DO I SIGN UP?
USCBC Online Registration Form can be found on our website www.uscbc.basketball.net.au and is required to be completed for all players Coaches, Managers, Volunteers & Referees associated with USCBC competitions.
When registering an U13-U19 Player, you are required to play in the following age group aligned with Basketball Queensland as your 1st priority age group. If you would like your son or daughter would like to play up an age group then please register and email the Basketball Office and we will be happy to accommodate you. When registering you must use your username and password. If you don’t remember your password then please select the tab to retrieve your login details, which will be emailed to you immediately. On the registration screen please select the appropriate school team / club and follow the prompts.
SIGN ON DAY
To ensure all players are registered and they secure a place for round 1, we are asking all athletes to register by 7pm on the 7th October. All athletes that are not registered by this date cannot be guaranteed a place in a team for round 1. Athletes that register after this date will also incur a $20 admin fee. This fee is because the draw and teams will have to be readjusted. Please note that registering after this date will also make it more difficult in accommodating your team requests etc.
JUNIORS CLUB TRAININGS
Tuesday Club Trainings from 4:00 – 6:00pm is available to all club members listed below:
U17 & U19 from 4pm-5pm and U13 & U15 from 5pm-6pm
- Hammerheads Basketball Club
- Hawks Basketball Club
- Panthers Basketball Club
- Wolves Basketball Club
Teams that are external or affiliated clubs such as Grammar Basketball, Sienna Basketball, Immanuel Lutheran Basketball, and Pacific Lutheran Basketball don’t have the Tuesday Club Trainings available as they have a reduced rate of $205 that excludes the training cost.
BASKETBALL QUEENSLAND PLAYER INSURANCE
A compulsory non-refundable BQ Player Insurance Fee. Coverage is for the year and must be paid before a player can take the court. All players will need to pay full BQ Player Insurance ($56) and if you are eligible for 2nd Association BQ Insurance ($27), you will need to bring proof of purchase and you will be reimbursed the difference.
STADIUM SCORING
This season USCBC will be introducing the use of Stadium Scoring. By using laptop technology to replace the traditional paper scoresheet, Stadium Scoring has virtually eliminated the tedious task of entering results manually and errors in collating those scores.

- Basketball players are able to access their Game, Season and Career Statistics online or on their mobile phones.
- As an Association it will generate hours of time-saving for both volunteers and paid staff.
- Fully integrated with Online Competitions Software and our website to ensure an accurate and efficient process of data management.
- Easy to learn with a user friendly interface.
- Enables participants to follow a series of their statistics online, share their statistics on Facebook and compare to other players across leagues and associations.
PLAYERS FILLING IN
Club rules state that your team can take the court and play the game with a minimum of 4 players. If you decide to accept a player without paying their registration or from another team in the same division to fill in, be aware, your game will be treated as a Loss by Forfeit and the winning team is awarded score 20-0
