There's Still Some Rabbits Around
Peter O'Toole wrote about the grandfinals:
An excellent day's football was witnessed by the big crowd but
unfortunately thay also witnessed the ugly side of football when a
trainer saw fit to abuse umpires and players alike.
Fortunately these unsavoury antics were witnessed by four league
executive members who no doubt will meter out judgement on the
resultant charge of "conduct unbecoming" as laid by the officiating
umpires. Junior football can well do without this type of behaviour.

Since our creation in 1974 there has been a steady decline in
the degree of parochialism at club level to the present healthy
attitude the SJFL exhibits whereby what is good for junior football
in general is the basis on which we operate rather than what is
good for our individual clubs.
The credit for this goes to the SJFL executive, men and women,
who have put in many years in creating what 'Grumpy' Hynes
calls the best junior league in Victoria.
Yes, kids of Sunraysia, you are indeed fortunate to have so
many people working for your welfare. To all these people,
on your behalf, I say a big thank you.
