Season 1990
Season 1990 was highlighted by the closeness of the
competition with both the U13 and U15 ladder leaders
incurring defeats on the way through.
Also in both grades the battle for fourth spot went
right to the last game of the home and away fixture.
Mildura
7.11 (53) defeated Red Cliffs 4.7 (31) to
win the Under 15 premiership, Mildura's sixth.
A whirlwind first quarter enabled the Demons to take
the flag, and it certainly was required as the Tigers
fought the game right out.
Mildura best players: Scott Cameron, Travis Byrne,
Jamie Tarrant, Damian Byrne

The Virgona medal winner Dom Scullino (South Mildura),
way and above the best footballer for his age in the district,
was somewhat of a surprise, as he only played 7 games
at the U15 level and scored in all of them. Had he played
in all games a record total could have been achieved.

SJFL Chairman, Mr. W. Hynes, was mentioned in
the Queen's Birthday Honour List
and awarded the Order of Australia Medal.
Local junior clubs were circularised with a copy of
"Bluey" Farnsworth's analysis of the pros and cons of
Euston entering an U15 side in the SJFL next year.
The article by "Bluey" was featured in the Robinvale local
paper and also prefaced the entry of a 1991 U11 side
from Robinvale.
