The University of Queensland Basketball Club was founded in 1964 and is one of the largest senior basketball clubs in Queensland.

University Basketball is affiliated with the Brisbane Basketball Association and enters mens and womens teams in:

• the elite Greater Brisbane League (GBL); and
• the Brisbane Basketball (BBI) senior competition.

The club also supports the UQ basketball teams at the Australian University Games. 

The club primarily comprises students from UQ, but is open to everyone with a number of players remaining with the club long after graduation.

Past members of the club (both men and women have gone on to play in the National Basketball League as well as earned scholarships to play for American colleges.

The club is a not-for-profit incorporated association which relies on the contribution of volunteers to coach and manage teams. If you are interested in helping out, just contact a member of the Club's executive committee.
