Playing Information

At SBA we offer a wide range of playing opportunities in our domestic competition structure.


Domestic competition caters for all skill levels and abilities and offers participants the opportunity to compete with the best and fairest basketballers within the local Shoalhaven Region.

SBA's competitions are hosted in the Shoalhaven Indoor Sports Centre (SISC) located on Cambewarra Road, Bomaderry, 2541.

We provide gender specific competitions with age groups and divisions currently offer at SBA are as follows:

 

Competition Schedule 

SBA is pleased to announce that basketball is not a seasonal sport and we have opportunities to play all year round.

Both Senior and Junior competitions run in conjunction with the school terms.

 

Player Eligibility & Competition Availability

Playing opportunities within the SBA domestic competition structure is dependant on the capacity of each respective division and age group.

If a competition participant has a preference of existing or new members to play with, that information can be passed on to the competitions manager to review and do what is possible to make the playing experience more suitable and enjoyable for the members.

Please note that competition integrity and balance will be prioritised in the decision making process and is at the discression of SBA officials and staff.

MEN

Seniors - Mens A Grade & B Grade  (18 Years & over) - Tuesday 6PM-9PM

Under 18's - (16 and 17 years) - Tuesday 4PM - 8PM

Under 16's - Division 1 & 2  (14 and 15 years)Thursday 4PM - 6PM

Under 14's  - (12 and 13 years) - Thursday 4PM - 5PM

Under 12's - (10 and 11 years) - Wednesday 4PM - 6PM

Game times vary within the mentioned time frames specific to each competition. 

 

WOMEN

Seniors -(18 Years & over) - Tuesday 6PM-8PM

Under 16/18's - (14/15/16/17 years) - Tuesday 4PM - 6PM

Under 12/14 - (10/11/12/13 years) - Tuesday 5PM  - 6PM

Game times vary within the mentioned time frames specific to each competition.

 

AUSSIE HOOPS

5/6/7/8/9 years - Wednesday 4PM to 5PM - Please see below for further information

The age group you play in is based on the age you are turning this year eg if the player is turning 10 or 11 this year, then they play in Under 12's.

Please note that through liason with the competition manager ability of participants can be assessed and participants nominated for a division that better suits their skill level.

If you feel this applies to you, please send us an email to admin@shoalhavenbasketball.com.au and we will arrange for an assessment to be made.

If a player is approved to play up an age division, they will need to pay 50% of the term fees for the second team.

They will also still be required to play in their own division each week. If for some reason, the player can't take the court for their own age group, then for that week they are also unable to play on the higher age group team.

 

 Costs

To be eligible to take the court in an SBA Junior or Senior competition, two payments must be made.

 

PAYMENT 1 - Annual Registration  (due every 12 months from the date of purchase)

Juniors - 10 to 11 years - $65

Juniors - 12 - 17 Years - $75

Seniors- 18 Years and over - $95

 

PAYMENT 2 - Term fees 

Junior Competition - Term Fee - $120

 

Senior Competition  - Term Fee - $140

 

 

Term fees are due the week before each term starts and are payable 4 times per year. Terms are based on NSW school terms as we do not play in the school holidays.


JUNIORS ONLY - 10 TO 17 YEARS - All players must wear a Tigers Domestic Playing Singlet which are available for purchase online ($52)

 

 

 

Annual Registration -Shoalhaven Basketball is an association in partnership with Basketball New South Wales.

Annual registration is a mandatory requirement to play within our competition structure.

Registration includes access to our membership database SportsTG which includes all basketball related information, including competition statistics and playing history within SBA. It also includes a comprehensive insurance package to protect the integrity of the sport and also it's members.

For all new and existing members, "SportsTG" is our online membership database and product portal.

This is where all personal details and information is logged by our members. This is private and confidentially secured to manage logistics within the association.

New members are required to register using the SportsTG portal.

Aussie Hoops (5/6/7/8/9 years)

Please note that SBA development programs (Aussie Hoops) do not require a full registration to the association as listed above and registration costs are included in the program price.

SBA endorses and accepts the use of active kids vouchers and is applicable to these fees using our voucher redemption process. You will be asked for your voucher number on the payment screen.

Fees may differ due to the length of each school term and variable each year according to the scheduled school timetable.

 

Uniform

We have attached our full uniform policy to this page for review for our members.

It is important that Uniform Policy is adhered by all members as we look to improve the image of the support for the greater community. Uniform policy is enforced by SBA & the policy is designed around the requirements of the sports equipment & uniform guidelines to ensure safety & presentation of the players is to the best possible standard.

Junior competition
Black Shorts, Sport Playing Shoes & Reversible Tigers Singlet (Purchase on website via the Tigers Head logo for $52.00)

Senior Competition
Uniforms are organised by teams individually and must include matching playing singlets with numbers visible on both the front and back of playing singlets.

Other uniform requirements can be viewed on the attached "Uniform Policy" document below or liaised with the association staff.


To enter the SBA competition, new members must liaise with SBA staff and officials to ensure that competitions have availabilities.

When SBA competitions are at capacity, interested participants will be placed on a waiting list and contacted at the nearest convenience.

At SBA we endeavour to get you on the court as quickly as we can and in the best environment possible so that you can begin to enjoy your basketball experience with SBA.
