BMBA BigV Youth League Try Outs Men & Women

Have Been Cancelled

To: All BMBA members and their families,

 

Today we unfortunately received a notice of rejection from BIGV in regard to our Youth League Boys and Girls teams entry into BIGV Youth League for the 2015 season. Their rejection advice indicated we were not considered for entry on the following grounds:

 

• The relatively small amount of time we have been established as an Association
• The lack of experience and performance of our more senior age groups in the VJBL competition
• Our need to attract players from other Associations to kick off our 1st year.

 

Whilst BIGV confirmed that they do see the BMBA as a BIGV participant in years to come, it was extremely disappointing to receive this rejection for the 2015 season. However, it was really encouraging to see the off court position of the BMBA with our submission, planning, venue, financial status and YL sub-committee development all getting the thumbs up and to all those involved on our YL sub-committee, we say a big thank you for your efforts in this regard.
 
Therefore with our 2014 entry now a no go, the Youth League Tryouts scheduled for the 19th & 26th of October have been cancelled.

 

On a slightly more positive note, this notification does allow the BMBA to concentrate over the next 12 months on the on-court issues highlighted by BIGV, including the development of our U/20 and U/18 girls and boys teams and to this end it is fantastic to be able to announce that all coaches previously appointed to our YL Program are most certainly fully committed to staying with the BMBA to coach the U/20 Boys and Girls teams and to work within our Association’s player development program and support our new application next year.

 

So whilst a rejection is certainly disappointing, be assured your Committee is now even more committed to ensuring this next phase of the BMBA development still occurs and as such the YL sub-committee has already begun the next planning phase to make a new application in the near future.
