Tryouts MU VJBL Imperials 2017/18 season

Registrations have now closed, and what a bumper year it's been. This is our largest registration year yet and we thank you for your interest in Imperials. If you forgot to register please do not turn up at the Tryouts. You will not be able to attend until your details have been received via our registration form, so please email imperials@westgatebasketball.com.au and wait for a reply.

Please bring a drink bottle, ball, and one white and one dark T-shirt or reversible training top, and wear plain black shorts (we ask that existing players do not wear any Imperials uniform). Your child's upper arms and calves will be numbered so please don't wear clothing that will cover these areas.

With the exception of U12s only, and like most Associations, we do not allow parents to come through to the courts with their child. Accompany them to, and collect them from, the registration check-in tables at the front entrance only.

Players in each age group will be assessed by at least two coaches and under the review of our Director of Coaching and other Support Staff. A clear set of evaluation criteria is provided to each coach, and time has been allocated for the coaches to meet and discuss selection of the teams. Final team selection will be available as soon as possible after the sessions of the 14th Oct and selected players should be prepared to attend a team/squad training session on Sunday the 22nd October, and the Geelong Tournament on the 4th & 5th of November

Also, please don't plan to speak with any Imperials coaches during or between session times. If you have a query or think you need anything from our DOC or any member of the Imperials coaching team, please contact imperials@westgatebasketball.com.au. There will be no exceptions to this rule so to avoid any embarrassment please don't ask at the Tryouts.

There's more information on our website under the VJBL-Imperials tab, Imperials - fees, other costs & what to expect overall, and we strongly suggest that you review the documents as they will answer most questions parents have at the start of the MU VJBL season.

We wish every player the very best for the Tryouts. We understand it is an exciting and possibly an anxious time. Provide positive messages to your child about the value of their efforts regardless of the outcome and good luck!
