Matthew Dellavedova

Matthew was born in Maryborough, Victoria and played his junior basketball within the Victoria Country program before being recruited to the AIS from 2006-08.

Matthew was recruited by Saint Mary's College of California out of the AIS and signed with the Gaels before the 2009–10 season.  He was one of the top junior players in Australia; ESPN.com rated Matthew as the #73 shooting guard recruit for the 2008–09 recruiting season.

Matthew immediately contributed for the Gaels and started each of the first 15 games of the season for the team. In 2009–10, he averaged 12.1ppg, 3.5rpg, and 4.5apg.

He was a 2012–13 Academic All-America selection.  He was also a 2012–13 Senior CLASS Award finalist. 

Matthew is Saint Mary's all-time leader in scoring, assists, games played, free throw percentage and three-point shots.

Matthew was a member of the Stankovic Cup All-Star Five, the Australian U19 (Emus) Captain at the FIBA U19 World Championship (4th place) in 2009; played for Victoria at the U20 Nationals with (Bronze) in 2008; held an AIS Scholarship 2006-08, attended the Albert Schweitzer Tournament in Germany (Bronze) in 2008; the William Jones Cup in Taiwan (Bronze) in 2008; the FIBA U19 Oceania Championship with Emus in 2009; was a member of the U20 Victorian team which won the National Championship in 2007, attended the 2006 Australian Junior Development Camp and in 2005 played with the U16 National Champion, Victoria Country.

In 2009 and 2011 he was a member of the Boomers FIBA Oceania team which won gold and in 2012 Matthew was a member of the 2012 London Olympics team.

Matthew joined the Cleveland Cavaliers for the 2013 NBA Summer League in Las Vegas. In September 2013, he signed with the Cavaliers for the 2013–14 season, starting in the 2014/15 NBA Finals series against the Golden State Warriors and has signed on for the 2015/16 NBA Season.
