FIH WORLD LEAGUE ROUND 1 FIJI BEGINS

Samoa were awarded 6 penalty corners but sound defence from PNG kept the score 0-0. Near the end of the match Papua New Guinea looked like they would score as they began to play a passing game and made several promising attacks into the Samoa circle. Excellent goalkeeping from Samoa Goalkeeper, Doreen Pese, kept their line from being breached.

At the final whistle the score was 0-0 and went into a shootout. PNG were definitely advantaged as they had used this format in theie recent PNG Games. They won the shootout 3-0.
