Oceania Badminton Announce Combined AYOF Team

Six athletes from the Oceania region have been named in a combined team to compete at the Australian Youth Olympic Festival in Sydney in January.   These juniors will have a chance to test their ability against young players from Australia, New Zealand, Great Britain, China, Malaysia and Chinese Taipei in both a team and individual competition.

Athletes - Boys: Rémi Rossi (Tahiti), Antoine Beaubois (Tahiti), Jérémy Lemaitre (New Caledonia)

Athletes - Girls: Magali Bravo (New Caledonia), Carline Bentley (Fiji), Jennifer Tam (Australia)

Officials - Coaches: Léo Cucuel (Tahiti), Rauhiri Goguenheim (Tahiti); Manager: Nadia Bleaken (Oceania)

The team will meet in Auckland for a training camp prior to heading to Sydney for the event.  The AYOF takes place around Sydney from 16-20 January 2013 and will feature 1700 athletes from 30 countries competing in 16 sports.
