RMI men head for bronze game Saturday — updated

Team Guam defeated RMI in the men's semifinal playoff game Friday night in Guam, 75-51 to advance to the gold medal game on Saturday. The RMI will play Guam Jr., which lost to Palau in the other semifinal game, 77-71.

Guam led the RMI 29-22 at halftime in the playoff game Friday September 28. But by the beginning of the fourth quarter, Guam had extended its lead to 51-35.

Frederick 'Nao' Shoniber led Team RMI with 11 points. Nathaniel 'Baby' Lometo, Willis 'Mokku' Lamille and Bolear Bokna each scored eight. The RMI was whistled for nearly double the number of fouls as Guam: RMI had 28 personal fouls, while Guam had only 15. Keoki Pinho fouled out, while four of the key RMI players — Nao, Baby, Wayne Anjain and Bolear — had four fouls each.
