BOMI Ralik Ratak Shootout second day results
The BOMI 12th Ralik Ratak Shootout Invitational Basketball Tournament continued through its second day of play December 5 with three men's games pitting Mejit against Namu, Arno against Wotje and Majuro v Maloelap.
Mejit jumped out to a halftime lead of 35-28 over Namu, but could not hold the lead in the second half as the score see-sawed back and forth as both teams exchanged baskets. Namu caught up and then forced the game into overtime. But baskets by Bolot Paul and Junior Anuntak (who scored 31 for the game) helped Mejit outscore Namu 11-8 in OT to win, 67-64.
Top scorer was Junior Anuntak with 31 followed by Bolot Paul. For Namu, Erick Kumtak led the team with 11 points, while Melvin Kilma scored 9 and Baybat Lattrik 8.
In the second game, Arno took a six-point first quarter lead and never looked back as it kept extending its lead. The final score was 66-54 for Arno. Rickson Lakabung led Arno with 16. He was helped by Charlie Maddison with eight. For Wotje, Tojang led with 13, Tarnis added 12 and Rommy 10.
The final game pitted Maloelap against Majuro. Although the lead changed hands at least a dozen times, Maloelap led at all the quarter breaks. Behind the clutch shooting of Keoki Pinho, Maloelap held on to defeat Majuro, 62-57.
Top scorers for Maloelap were Keoki with 14 and Lani Lani with another 12 points. For Majuro, Raynold M scored 14 and Phillip added another eight. Keoki led Maleolap with 15, while Lani Lani scored 12.
