THE national women's hockey side is leaving no stone unturned in their preparation for round 2 of the FIH (International Hockey Federation) World League that will be held in India this year.
After winning round 1 and the Oceania Pacific Cup three weeks ago, the team resumed their training straight after Christmas and coach Shaun Corrie said they would continue training today.
He said there were only six weeks left to prepare and they wanted to make sure they covered everything in the remaining time before they departed for New Delhi. Fiji, ranked 59th in the world, has been pooled with Japan (9), India (12), Russia (20), Malaysia (22) and Kazakhstan (33).
Corrie said they were taking a realistic approach and were targeting exposure in the competition.
"We will be training right throughout New Year because we need to ensure that we prepare well," he said.
"Round 1 was different and round 2 will be difficult and it will be a big task for us."
The former national rep said training would be aggressive and thorough.
