2012 Oceania Pacific Cup News - So terribly close!

The Boys game against PNG was a big one - important to prove to ourselves, and important to move into the gold medal match against the formidable Fiji.

With Samoa unfortunately pulling out due to financial reasons, this was our big game for us, and we knew it!

We played a fantastic game - and in the opinion of most - should have come away with the win. However PNG's heavily defensive game made it hard for us to play our usual speedy skillful game. In the end, the score was tight but unfortunately favored PNG with a lucky breakaway goal leaving the score 1-0.

Disappointingly, this meant that we were out of the gold medal match - but next year, we know will be different!
