The Kazan Arena played host to a second performance from Meli Malani, in the Men’s 50m Freestyle.more


The second and final race for Fiji’s Matelita Buadromo was in the Women’s 100m Freestyle, along with three other Oceania athletes. Her previous race in this event was in the Pacific Games in Papua New Guinea, several weeks before, in which she achieved a time of 58.29 seconds and a silver medal.

Fiji’s first entrant into the 16th FINA World Championships, in Kazan, was 19-year-old Matelita Buadromo. Competing in the Women’s 200m Freestyle, Buadromo started in heat two as she looked to break one of her several, impressive national and personal records.

The Team Fiji Swimming camp was held 22 – 24 May in Suva. The objective of the camp was team bonding and to gauge fitness levels of team members.more

National Schools Swimming Championships

The Fiji National Schools Swimming Championships are underway at the Damodar City Aquatic Centre in Suva.

Thirty-seven schools (both primary and secondary) have registered teams with 627 swimmers competing over the two days’ of competition, with teams traveling from the West, and Vanua Levu. Swimmers have registered for 1880 individual entries & 181 relay entries.more
