Welcome to Lacrosse SA

Lacrosse SA is the peak body for lacrosse in South Australia, managing competitions for Women and Men, and Girls and Boys from age 8.

The main field lacrosse season runs from April to September, but there are other competitions as well - Indoor Contact, Indoor "Sof-crosse", pre-season competitions and University and High School competitions.

Australian Lacrosse Champion, Sue McSolvin, awarded an OAM

Australian Lacrosse Champion, Sue McSolvin, has been awarded an Order of Australia Medal, General Division on Australia Day 2015 for services to Lacrosse.

Congratulations to Sue on this most prestigious award. This is a wonderful recognition of Sue’s contributions to our great sport.more

Mad March LaxFest & Golf Day

The 3rd annual Mad March LaxFest, which incorporates the Lacrosse SA Golf Day and an 8 a side lacrosse tournament will be held from 20th – 22nd March.

This year sees both the golf and lacrosse being played locally for first time, with the LSA Golf Day kick starting the weekend from midday Friday at Blackwood Golf Course and the Mad March Lax Tournament at Sturt Lacrosse Club.more

ALA Announcement: Head Coach Australian Women’s Team 2017

ALA is pleased to announce the appointment of Sue Sofarnos as Head Coach of the Australian Women’s Team 2017.

The Australian Team will compete at the 2017 FIL World Cup, to be held in Guildford England, Thursday 13 – Saturday 22 July 2017.more

ALA 2015 National Conference

The ALA will be hosting the third National Conference in Western Australia in conjunction with Lacrosse WA.

The underlying theme for the conference is in ‘Sharing Best Practice’ in Coaching, Officiating and Club Development.

ALA Announcement U23 Australian Men’s Team 2015

ALA is pleased to announce the appointment of Glenn Morley as Head Coach of the U23 Australian Men’s Team 2015.

The U23 Australian Men’s Team will compete at the 2015 ASPAC Championship, to be held in Bangkok Thailand, Saturday 4 – Saturday 11 July.

Glenn brings with him a depth of knowledge and experience as both a coach and player, to pass on to our aspiring U23 Australian players.more

LSA Schools Competition

The 2015 Lacrosse SA School Competition will run on Fridays after school in Term 1, with matches starting from 4pm and finishing by 6pm.

The competition will be conducted over five weeks, from 20 February to 20 March 2015.

The venue is Park 21W, corner South Terrace and Goodwood Road, in the Adelaide park lands.

Nomination fee is $50 per team.more

How to get your Police Check

Play by the Rules Update

A new free Play by the Rules online training course is now available.


The course features two modules - 'Child Protection' and 'Harassment and Discrimination' - which replace all of the previous online training courses. The course is succinct, user-friendly and features the latest interactive technology, including case studies, practical scenarios and a quiz. It is suitable for coaches, administrators, officials, players, parents and spectators.


Men's ALA/FIL Rules Update 2012

The ALA Rules for Season 2012 are now on the ALA website. The Rules have been amended to include the Variations introduced by the FIL in 2011, and shall be the Rules used in all Australian National Competitions as of this date.

Women's Rule Book update

ALA wishes to inform Member Associations, Umpires, TD's and players that the revised 2011-2014 Women's Rule Book has been edited and is now available on the FIL website at

All of the clarifications and changes to Rule 3 & 25, Manufacturers Specifications are in blue. The Table of Contents has also changed some due to lengthy editing.

These changes take effect immediately.

Please Note: The Debeer "Gripper Pocket" will be legal for FIL play until January 1, 2013.
