Welcome to Lacrosse SA

Lacrosse SA is the peak body for lacrosse in South Australia, managing competitions for Women and Men, and Girls and Boys from age 8.

The main field lacrosse season runs from April to September, but there are other competitions as well - Indoor Contact, Indoor "Sof-crosse", pre-season competitions and University and High School competitions.

Lacrosse SA Lightning Carnivals

Over the past two weeks Lacrosse SA held two Lightning Carnivals. The Northern Carnival at North Adelaide Lacrosse club with 23 teams & over 180 kids and South-Eastern Carnival at Sturt Lacrosse club with 53 teams & over 420 kids.

Great to see so many schools getting behind our great game!

2014 Australian Men's Team Announced

Following the final selection camp in Japan earlier in March, ALA has announced the Australian Men's Team to compete in the World Championships in July 2014, in Denver, USA.

Resignation of Women's Competition Director

Please be advised Mark Basham today resigned as Director of the Women’s Lacrosse Committee effective from the 31st March.

Mark has agreed to complete the women’s draw for the coming season in all senior grades and will also assist in chairing the next WLC meeting scheduled for 7th April if required.more

Please Note:
At the February LSA Board meeting it was passed that the Bylaws 1.7.1 to 1.7.3 will be applied to any player who has an outstanding debt in excess of 14 days from the payment due date will be deregistered until payment is received.
All club secretaries will be notified of their clubs players who have an outstanding debt and will not be allowed to play until payment is received.more

How to get your Police Check

As a volunteer at your club, you will require a South Australian Police Check. If you do not currently have a police check - please click on 'more' for instructions on how to obtain one.


Play by the Rules Update

A new free Play by the Rules online training course is now available.


The course features two modules - 'Child Protection' and 'Harassment and Discrimination' - which replace all of the previous online training courses. The course is succinct, user-friendly and features the latest interactive technology, including case studies, practical scenarios and a quiz. It is suitable for coaches, administrators, officials, players, parents and spectators.


Men's ALA/FIL Rules Update 2012

The ALA Rules for Season 2012 are now on the ALA website. The Rules have been amended to include the Variations introduced by the FIL in 2011, and shall be the Rules used in all Australian National Competitions as of this date.

Women's Rule Book update

ALA wishes to inform Member Associations, Umpires, TD's and players that the revised 2011-2014 Women's Rule Book has been edited and is now available on the FIL website at

All of the clarifications and changes to Rule 3 & 25, Manufacturers Specifications are in blue. The Table of Contents has also changed some due to lengthy editing.

These changes take effect immediately.

Please Note: The Debeer "Gripper Pocket" will be legal for FIL play until January 1, 2013.
