Review of Victorian State Water Polo Team selection policy

Each year Water Polo Victoria nominates male and female State teams to participate in the U14 East Coast Challenge, the U20 National Championships and the School Sport Australia Championships.

The current State Team Selection Policy states that the purpose of having State Teams is “to achieve the best possible results in competitions, to provide match experience for our top athletes in elite competition and to nurture the love of the sport in younger age groups”.

A review of the current policy has been initiated by the Board and will be led by Board member Steve Blunt. Club Presidents have been contacted by email and clubs should contact Steve by email at steve@fiveaus.com by January 20th if they wish to be involved. In addition to seeking input from clubs, the process will also seek input from past coaches and team managers. The goal is to finalise the review by mid March so changes can be implemented for 2013 tournaments.
