Day 1 Wrap

It has been a fantastic first day of the 2013 Be Active WA State Championships with plenty of heat applied both on and off the field with over 40 teams from around the state taking to the field.

In the Men’s Open division, powerhouse Wanneroo have gotten their 2013 campaign’s off to a flyer winning all their games on day 1 and looking strong, with the highlight being a 10 touchdown to 7 win over fellow favourite Southern Districts

In the Women’s Open Southern Districts & Perth Brothers are undefeated after day 1 and are looking strong once again but tomorrow will be a different story with many more Women’s matches occurring.

Karratha have had a fantastic day 1 in the Mixed Open division claiming 3 wins from 3 starts, while Tompkins Park are also looking good winning 2 of their 3 games to join Karratha at the top of the table.

The Womens 27s division is wide open however with Rosalie and Perth Brothers both starting strongly both claiming 2 wins from 2 attempts.

In the Men’s 30s division Northern Districts have bolted out of the blocks winning two from two on day 1 while Tompkins Park have also started well currently sitting second with one win and one loss.

Wanneroo & Southern Districts are currently undefeated in the W35 and will be tough to beat but they will face tough opposition from each other obviously but also Fremantle in the coming days

Finally in the Men’s 40 division it’s shaping as a North Vs South battle with both Northern Districts and Southern Districts having a solid day winning all their matches on day one.
