The 26 man squad has been named for the Cairns Lions U17s Victorian Challenge.
The Cairns team will head south in early April to take on the Ballarat Football League and the Riddell Districts Football league in what will be a fantastic challenge and development exercise.
The trip will give players the opportunity to test their ability against some of Victoria’s, finest as well as tap into some terrific AFL educational experiences that will be available in the AFL heartland.
This will be the 4th time Cairns has met Ballarat with the ledger currently at 2 – 1 the southerners’ way. A strong relationship has been built up over the years between Cairns and Ballarat, which will see Ballarat venturing north for the first time in June for a return bout, bringing quality AFL content to the Far North.
