The 2011-2012 Rep program will see some 'life experiences to be added to the program for the committed players.
The Wide Bay Tigers that will venture down to Ballina to play in the Country South Championships will be one of the strongest sides to represent the region in some time. Coach of the side, Graham Gale has been impressed with the talent at his disposal and that has been represented by the talent that has been left out of the final team.
The team will play Northern Rivers and Darling Downs before a comibined All Star team will be announced to play the Gold Coast U14 Squad. The Sunshine Coast selectors will be there to select Wide Bay boys to add to the Power U14 Squad for the State Championships in the first week of the school holidays.
Wide Bay and Darling Downs came together at Maroochydore for the annual end of summer regional challenge. Both sides were under strength but that made for a good contest throughout the game. It was fantastic to see DD there at all with the devastating summer that they had to bear and the losses they recieved in the region.
Four local players have been included in the upcoming lightning carnival games that will lead to the final State team selection. Rory Pope (Bombers), Sam Daff (Brothers), Patty Power (ATW) and Dylan Alexander aka Pickles (Maryborough) have all been given a chance to go further. The process for the boys is as follows:
