FRENCH POLYNESIA FIGHT AGAINST DOPING IN SPORT
ORADO was invited by the French Polynesia Ministry of Youth and Sport to conduct a Doping Control Officer (DCO) training in Papeete, Tahiti. The training was done in 2 phases: Phase 1- Theory; Phase 2- Practical.
The Theory Phase was conducted from the 29-31st October 2012 in Papeete, Tahiti. This consisted of a Written Exam and Scenario Exam where participants are to score 90% to receive an accreditation as a DCO.
For the Practical Phase, the activities was spread out from the 3-7th November 2012 in Papeete and Raiatea (also known as the Scared Island) of French Polynesia. The new DCOs are given mission orders to carry out tests for Basketball, Tahiti Nui Marathon, and finally the most famous Hawaiki Nui Va'a Tournament.
There were 23 participants attended the training with backgrounds range from Medical to Administration: 20 participants from French Polynesia and 3 participants from New Caledonia Direction of Youth and Sport which included Ms. Felicia Ballanger, a 3 times Olympic Gold Medal and 10 times World Champion for Cycling.
