12 Pacific Island coaches to attend first ever Tournament Coach education program

The Tournament Coach module has been developed by FIBA Oceania and Basketball Australia with support from the Australian Sports Commission. The aim of the module is to educate coaches on how to prepare their teams for day-in, day-out competition as occurs during mutil day basketball tournaments.

The module will be presented to 12 Pacific Island coaches from PNG, Samoa, Tahiti, New Caledonia, Guam, Palau and Solomon Islands by former Australian Opals assistant coach Peter Lonergan. Assiting Peter will be former FIBA Oceania Development Manager Regan Kama.

The course will run parallel to the Pacific Youth Championships and participants will attend a number of the player and coach clinics conducted by WABC President Patrick Hunt.
