Best and Fairest Awards
These awards were introduced for the Under 9, Under 11, Under 13 and Under 15 grades in the 1999 season.
Due to a restricted competition in Under 15's in season 1999 only two (2) medals were awarded.
These awards recognise players who demonstrate not only a high level of skill for their age group, but importantly, play football fairly and in line with the League's objectives.
In addition to the three individual best and fairest awards, the top 22 players for the season in each grade are named in a Team of the Year.
In 2006, the League changed the competition grades to Under 8, Under 9, Under 10, Under 11, Under 12, Under 13, Under 14 and Under 16. However as part of the League's alignment with the SANFL, Under 8 to Under 10 grades will not play for premiership points, final series games will not be played and the best and fairest medals will not be awarded.
In 2012 as the Under 15 and Under 16 teams combined with Metro West Junior Football League, only Under 11 to Under 14 Best and Fairest Awards were awarded by Metro South Junior Football League.
As you can see there are several past Best and Fairest Medal Winners who have gone on to play for AFL Clubs.
