Women in Fencing Group

A new initiative called 'Women in Fencing' will commence on the 14th September, 10am-12pm, at the State Fencing Centre. The aim is for female fencers to train together, support and encourage each other and get to know one another better and provide a group/support network. At present it will be for Female Foilists, but it is hoped that the group will eventually cover all weapon types.more

New Program For Sporting Clubs To Build Their Own Facilities

The Minister for Sport and Recreation, Damian Drum has launched the Victorian Coalition Government’s $1 million 'Local Facilities for Local Clubs Program'. The program rewards innovative community clubs and organisations with dollar-for-dollar funding of up to $50,000 for small sport and recreation facility projects.more

Fencing Victoria Epee Mask Requirements

Fencers are required to wear an Epee mask with a non-conductive bib for all Epee competitions (Category 1 and 2).more

FIE Rule Interpretation

FV have had inquiries about the penalties to be applied to rule t63.3 and the scope of brutality in Epee. The rule itself is open to interpretation so FV have asked for David Mok's, Stephen Darragh's, and David Baker's(all are FIE referees)opinion on it. The attachment is a summary of their opinion on the penalties to be applied for t63.3 & also a summary on the current standing of Corps a corps.more
