Te Runga 2013 - Kiribati National Championships

The Government of Kiribati recently announced that the Kiribati National Champiosnhips will be held this year from the 21st of September to the 5th of October. The Secretary for the Ministry of Internal and Social Affairs (Sports Ministry) Mr Booti Nauan said that Cabinet had confirmed the dates for Te Runga and that preparations were currently underway by the Ministry to be what will be an exciting year of sport.

The last time Te Runga was held was way back in 2010.

Some figures from the last meet:

22 islands registered

13 sports on the program

101 events were conducted

434 officials officiated the games

2780 athletes participated in the games.

For Te Runga 2013 while things are still in the preparation phases it has been said that it will be bigger than the previous Te Runga
