Nominations open for NZF Community and Development Awards

To honour the outstanding achievements and contributions by volunteers and clubs at a community level throughout the country, New Zealand Football have launched the NZF Community and Development Awards, which will be announced and presented as part of the NZ Football Annual Awards evening on 31 May.

Clubs and volunteers are the backbone of any sport, and football is no exception. As New Zealand’s largest grassroots sport, football has more than its fair share of unsung heroes contributing countless hours as volunteers within almost 500 clubs across the country. We believe that these awards are an opportunity to celebrate the fantastic work that takes place in the clubs around the country.

For three of these inaugural awards, NZ Football is seeking nominations from those involved at the grassroots.

Follow this link for more information on the awards, then nominate who you believe should be considered for Outstanding Volunteer of the Year, Community Impact Award or Commercial Partnership Award.

All nominations to be emailed to alida@capitalfootball.org.nz

Please note entries close 3rd May 2012 so be sure to submit your nomination before then!

We will then collate the nominations and submit them to NZ Football by 13 May.

All successful applicants will be notified week ending 20 May.

We look forward to receiving your nominations over the next few days!

Comment Guidelines: The SportingPulse Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
