Bereavement

It is with much regret that North Wellington AFC wishes to advise of the sudden passing of Colin Lloyd, Life Member and stalwart of the club on 27 November 2012 aged 55 years.  Colin was Club President (2001-2003), Club Captain (1993-1996 & 1998) and a Committee member for over 10 years.  He was inducted as a Life Member in 1999.  A recipient of the Northern Wellington Volunteer Service Awards held in 2005 and hosted by local MP, and our Club Patron, Peter Dunne.

Although not a player for the club, he was the Men’s 1st team manager in 2000, and is well known for being a dedicated administrator, advocate and supporter of the club as well as being an attendee and contributor at recent AGMs. Colin was also a two-time recipient of club trophies for both sportsperson/committee member & club personality awards. He was an ardent Arsenal fan who remained true to his UK roots.

Colin's contribution to the football community also extends to the wider Wellington region. Colin's wife Therese's father was Mr Kelly, the family who the Kelly Cup originated from. Colin was also a member of the Wellington Soccer Association in 2000.

North Wellington extends their deepest sympathies, support and condolences to his wife Therese (also a NW Life Member), their daughters Kasey and Sian, and Pongo the much loved family dog.  Further information including the details for the funeral will be posted at this link once available.
