Vale Kay Mithen, Boomer Life Member

Kay Mithen was made a Life Member of the Bulleen-Templestowe Basketball Club in 2000 in recognition of her many years volunteering for the Club. She started her involvement with basketball as the Girls Secretary for St Clements in our Primary school competition, and as her children grew she became involved with our Junior Domestic and Championship programs.

Over the years she took on a variety of positions initially managing teams and then taking a far greater involvement in the growth of the Club by becoming a member of the Girls Junior Championship Committee. From there she became a 100% committed member of the Club and took on further roles such as Editor of the JCG Newsletter; Secretary of the Senior Womens Championship Committee; and assisted with the Junior tournament weekends and any other special event that the Club wanted organised. She also worked part-time in the Club's office for many years and eventually retired in 2009.

Kay was a wonderful person who always volunteered her time to help around the Club and our thoughts and condolences go out to Phil and her family at the sad passing of Kay on 11th February 2013.
