Mackay junior Sam Bartolo has become the second player to re-sign with the McDonald's Meteors for QBL season 2013.
The 22-year old has spent five QBL seasons with the Meteors and has career averages of four points and two rebounds per game over 89-contests.
A former Queensland junior representative player, Bartolo has been a contributor in both of the McDonald's Meteors QBL championship winning sides and was also captain of the Mackay Meteors under 23 team which won the Tropical Youth League back in 2010.
Bartolo said he was looking forward to the 2013 QBL season.
"I am happy about being involved for another season and can't wait for pre-season training to get underway," Bartolo said.
"I got injured in the pre-season last year and that put me behind a bit, so hopefully this time I can get fit and be ready when the first games roll around in April," he said.
McDonald's Meteors head coach Joel Khalu said Bartolo would be a key contributor next year.
"Sam's been around the QBL for a while now so he knows how hard you have to work day-in and day-out, especially if you want to be successful," he said.
"He's only 22, but is very mature and has a high basketball IQ which makes him a skilled player and a great asset."
"I'm excited about his continued development and hopefully he can take a few more forward steps next year."
