McDonald's Mackay Continues Partnership With Meteors

For the fifth consecutive year, McDonald's Restaurants in Mackay will back the Meteors as the team's exclusive naming rights sponsor in the Queensland Basketball League.

Throughout the successful partnership tenure, the McDonald's Meteors have won consecutive QBL championships (2011 & 2012), while finishing league runner-up in 2010.

Mackay Basketball General Manager and McDonald's Meteors Head Coach Joel Khalu said the support shown by McDonald's Mackay was critical to the clubs ongoing success and sustainability.

"There's no doubting that without the support of McDonald's Restaurants Mackay, we would not have achieved the success that we have both on & off the court over the past few years," Khalu said.

"Ron (Reseck) and his family are passionate about Mackay Basketball.  Not only at the QBL level, but also at the association & grassroots level as well."

"Through their ongoing community support we have seen the team reach new heights."

"We are very proud to have them on board for another season, especially as we attempt to make history by becoming the first men's team to win three straight QBL titles."

2013 McDonald's Meteors QBL signings to date:

Matthew Gange

Greg Vanderjagt

More McDonald's Meteors player announcements are expected in the coming weeks.
