Division 'A' Player Policy

Player Policy

Players that choose to be considered for the Open national team development pathway are required to participate in ‘A’ Division competition – in Open Men, Women & Mixed categories.

The following simple rule applies: -

A player must play in 'A' division to be considered for the National Touch League.

“If a player is selected to represent in the Open NTL – they cannot play in Open ‘B’ division competition – including Open Mixed B”.

Players must compete regularly against their peers in ‘A’ division competition and not drop to ‘B’ category intensity.

This policy ensures that ‘A’ division players are participating at the highest possible level on a regular basis and ‘protects’ participants in the lower divisions of competition.

Please note: -This policy was established in January 2013 via a discussion panel consisting of senior players; coaches and selectors.
