In what was the closest Rocky Mackay Challenge in many years, Mackay Basketball took overall honours winning 10 of the 18 games on offer. As it turned out the recently added U23 showcase games proved to be the difference between the two associations with Mackay edging out Rockhampton in both the U23 Men and Women.more
The Rocky/Mackay Challenge will be played this week end - 8th and 9th November at Rockhampton Basketball. Congratulations to RBI Basketball players Jared Blanchard and Trevor Corrigan who helped the QLD Under 18 State Team win the National title at the School Sport Australia Championships. Jared was also selected in the Australian Team. Congratulations to Adam Morrow as well. Adam was a referee at the tournament and was selected to Referee the Gold Medal Game.more

Jan has previously refereed in the Women's National League (WNBL) and has been the director of referee development in the Queensland NITCP Program. Rockhampton Basketball Inc will be running a news girls basketball initiative in term 1 and 3 called "Girls Got Game." Each player will receive a pink basketball, t-shirt and bag. Program costs $20 and runs Friday's from 3.45 - 4.35pm starting on the 21st Feb.more

Rockhampton Basketball will be well represented in the Queensland U16 State Team this year after 4 boys (Damon and Leon Christensen, Malachi Shanahan and Sheldon Whitworth) and 2 girls (Briana Bailey & Kaitlyn Hill) were named at the completion of the U16 State Championships held in Rockhampton and Cairns last week. A further two Rockhampton boys (Bailey Meyers & Nick Magnussen) were named as emergencies and selected to the Emerging QLD teams while Anna Dyer was also selected to the Emerging QLD team.more
On Tuesday 23rd October RBI held a small function for the re-naming of our two courts constructed in 2010.
After due consideration, this honour has been bestowed upon two members, who deserved it above all others due to their tireless efforts to support RBI and its members. This support has helped to create a club which is now strong and vibrant and possesses wonderful facilities which can be enjoyed not only by its members but the community as a whole. Rockets Rookies (Boys) & Cyclone Kids (Girls): Rockhampton Basketball is running a 6 week program for Grade 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5 students. Rockhampton Basketball would like to congratulate Adam Morrow on his achievement of refereeing the girls gold medal game at Queensland School Sport 12years basketball State Championship last weekend.
Adam has been selected as one of the two Queensland Refs to attend the school sport Australia 12years & Under basketball championships in Melbourne in August 2012. He has done Rockhampton Basketball and Queensland Basketball very proud! Well done Adam!
