Coaches look ahead to Week 6 of the SBL

SOME SBL men's and women's coaches shared their thoughts about their upcoming matches this weekend in Week 6 of the 2014 season.

WOMEN'S
ROCKINGHAM FLAMES
Coach – Ryan Petrik

Tonight starts our worst six game stretch of the season. We will be playing Cockburn, Kalamunda, @ South West, Lakeside, Willo and Joondalup; and all in double header weekends.

We'd love to win all six of the games obviously, but realistically if we can survive and get out with three or four wins, it'll really set up our second half of the year.

COLLIE CRANE HIRE SOUTH WEST SLAMMERS
Coach – Darren Austin

Mandurah have also just added an American () who was the league MVP before I came over here so they've got better again. She has been here a week and played a game so she will be settled but Milo is always someone you have to focus on.

It's a game we can certainly get especially if we play with the intensity we showed in the first half against Rockingham, we just need to finish off games. It will be a tough game at their house and that's always a tough place to win, so it's going to be a hard game.

WILLETTON TIGERS
Coach – Brad Spicer

Finally this week we welcome our whole squad to training and have the opportunity to pick our strongest squad, with Lisa Wallbutton, Melissa Marsh and Brooke Hiddlestone all into the team for Saturday's game as we take on the unbeaten Lakeside a team that has always given the Tigers trouble.

As a team we need to focus on our defensive intensity and ensure that the basics are done well. Limit penetration and take pride in making one on one stops then box out, limit second shot opportunities to develop scoreboard pressure.

MEN'S
ROCKINGHAM FLAMES
Coach – Mark Utley

We have a tough weekend with an improving Cougars on Thursday at home and then have the frenetic Suns on Saturday. We are looking to continue winning but hopefully by a bit more than the tight wins we have been having as it's ruining my hairline these close games.
