Kickz101 SBL Players of the Week

The week nineteen “Kickz101 Perth” Women’s SBL Player of the Week has been awarded to Jacinta Bourne of the Orange Autos Rockingham Flames.

On Friday night the Orange Autos Rockingham Flames put together an outstanding performance in front of their home crowd, defeating the Perry Lakes Hawks 100 to 67.

The Flames were led by former WNBL West Coast Waves product Jacinta Bourne who was unstoppable at both ends of the floor to record a massive 34 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists and 7 steals.

Bourne was on fire for the home side with an incredible shooting display to knock down 7 of 11 from beyond the arc.

With Bourne firing alongside league superstars Darcee Garbin and Samantha Whitcomb, there is no doubt the Flames are the team to beat this year and sit top of the WSBL ladder with one game to play.

The player of the week was tightly contested this week after Lakeside’s import Kari Pickens also put in a dominant performance with 32 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocks against the Stirling Senators on Friday night.

Other considerations for the award included;

Taylor Wild (Stirling), Jessica Jakens (Perth), Stephanie Jones (East Perth), Nikita-Lee Martin (Joondalup), Alison Schwagmeyer (Kalamunda), Chelsea Boyanich (Perry Lakes), Marita Payne (Cockburn) & Deanna Smith (Cockburn).

The week nineteen “Kickz101 Perth” Men’s SBL Player of the Week has been awarded to Adrian Majstrovich of the Silver Lake Resources Goldfields Giants.

In a special event on Saturday, the Silver Lake Resources Goldfields Giants took on the Mandurah Magic at the Kambalda Recreation Centre, approximately 55 kilometres south of Kalgoorlie.

It was a game many predicted the Magic to win, however the combo of Adrian Majstrovich and import point guard Duran Blue put together 75 points between them and led the Giants to a five point victory 116 to 111.

Majstrovich was unstoppable for the Giants recording 38 points, 14 rebounds and 3 assists while matched up on Mandurah’s powerhouses Taylor Mullenax and Ben Smith.

With former import Tommy Hannon out with injury, the Giants recruited Majstrovich during the second half of the season who has since averaged 26.9 points, 10.8 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game.

Unlucky to miss out on this week’s award was Stanley Okoye of the Perth Redbacks who on Friday night put together a huge game against the Cockburn Cougars of 42 points, 12 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 blocks and 2 steals.
