WSBL Player of the Week
THE week seven Women’s SBL Player of the Week has been awarded Klara Wischer of the Merriwa Tavern & Bistro Joondalup City Wolves.
Wolves star recruit Klara Wischer has been in red hot form this season coming off a full WNBL season with the Perth Lynx.
On Saturday night Klara Wischer was absolutely unstoppable for the Wolves in their 105-67 defeat of the South West Slammers at the Joondalup Basketball Stadium.
Wischer stuffed the stats sheet with 28 points, 15 rebounds, 8 assists, 3 steals and 3 blocks, while not recording a single turnover in 26 minutes of court time.
Wischer was well supported by her team mates in Amy Kidner (31 points) and Nikita-Lee Martin (18 points) as the Wolves dominated the contest from start to finish.
Coach Friday’s squad does not currently include any imports or restricted players and team chemistry looks to be extremely good within the group as they sit in fourth position with a record of 5 wins and 1 loss.
Wischer numbers speak for themselves as she currently sits seventh in the league for points per game with 22.0, is second in the league for rebounds with 11.8 per game and second in assists with 4.8 per game.
If Klara’s hot form continues alongside the likes of Amos, Martin, Ironmonger and Kidner, the Wolves will continue to stamp themselves as a genuine threat for the championship in 2016.
