There was the second 47-point individual performance of the weekend on Saturday night in the SBL but it was the Southlands Boulevarde Willetton Tigers and Rockingham Flames women's sides and Perry Lakes, Rockingham and Australian Belt Scrapers Wanneroo Wolves men's who made the biggest statements.

Following Samantha Whitcomb's 47 points on Friday night for the Rockingham Flames, Luke Nevill came up huge for the Kalamunda Eastern Suns on Saturday.

The former Melbourne Tigers, Perth Wildcats and Townsville Crocs centre showed that he's ready for another crack at the NBA Summer League with an incredible display for the Eastern Suns.

Even though his team lost to the Mandurah Magic to remain winless this season, Nevill was simply amazing down low finishing with 47 points, 24 rebounds, four assists and three blocks.

He shot 19-of-38 from the field and the 7'1 monster even nailed a three-pointer and hit 8-of-10 from the charity stripe.

The Magic won the game, though, at Mandurah Aquatic and Recreation Centre with Rhett Della Maddalena scoring 30 points to go with 15 rebounds and six assists. Taylor Mullenax added 20 points, Aaron Trahair 19 and Andrew Bowman 12.

Ben Smith also had 19 points with seven assists and six rebounds for Kalamunda while Russell Haxby added 12 points and Louis Timms 10.

The Perth Redbacks beat the Geraldton Buccaneers with Bennie Lewis hitting 31 points, nine rebounds and five assists. Michael Vigor added 19 points, 13 rebounds and six assists with Justin Brown hitting 15 points and pulling in 12 rebounds. Joel Wagner added 13 points and seven assists.

Robert Kampman hit 34 points and nine rebounds for the Buccaneers with Aaron Ralph scoring 23 points and Mark Heron 19 to go with 12 boards.

The Perry Lakes Hawks continued its unbeaten start to the season with a 105-92 win over the Goldfields Giants at Neils Hansen Basketball Stadium.

Corey Easley had 28 points for the Hawks as did Michael Lay while Ben Purser added 17 points, 15 rebounds and six assists. Ben Dixon added 11 points and Rob Cassir nine.

Lordan Franich had 26 points and 16 rebounds for the Giants with Steven Weingarten scoring 22 points and Russell Hurst 20.

The Wanneroo Wolves beat the South West Slammers 114-84 at Joondalup Basketball Stadium with Damian Matacz scoring 20 points to go with 11 boards. Robert Huntington scored 14 points with nine boards while Trian Iliadis had 19 points, Seb Salinas 13, Doug Gales 11 and Reece Maxwell 11.

Jamahr Warren had 27 points, seven rebounds and four assists with Aaron Edwards adding 14 points for the Slammers and Ty Harrelson 12.

Willetton beat Cockburn 110-101 with Brandon Adams hitting 34 points and Quinn McDowell 32 for the Tigers. Kyle Armour added 18 points and Hayden Noordhoek 17 to go with 13 boards and six steals.

David Reichel hit 38 points and pulled in 12 boards for the Cougars with Brian Carlwell adding 21 and 13. Gavin Field had 11 points and 10 rebounds, and Damien Scott 19 points.

Rockingham also hammered Stirling 131-93 to cap off a tremendous weekend for the Flames.

Steven Bennett had 34 points and 11 rebounds for Rockingham with Travis Moore adding 24 and 14 and Cooper Land 23 and eight. Caleb Davis had 28 points for the Senators with Joshua Trhons adding 20 points and Nikolas Iliadis 18.

Meanwhile in women's action on Saturday, the South West Slammers handed the Wanneroo Wolves their first loss of the season beating them 73-64 at Joondalup Basketball Stadium.

Kimberly Sitzmann scored 32 points and pulled in 12 rebounds for the Slammers with Lauren Jeffers adding 18 points and Rebecca Preston eight to go with 10 boards.

Meghan D'Arcy scored 13 points for the Wolves with Casey Lockwood adding 12 points, Nikita-Lee Martin nine, Whitney Perret eight and Megan Lee eight.

The Kalamunda Eastern Suns beat the Mandurah Magic 75-65 despite a 26-14 final quarter from the home team at the Mandurah Aquatic and Recreation Centre.

Rachel Muenggenborg hit 14 points for the Suns with Chelsea Armstrong scoring 13, Melissa Moyle 13, Sarah-Jane Knox 11 and Jennie Rintala 10. Casey Mihovilovich scored 25 points and had 11 rebounds, five assists and five steals for the Magic. Rachel Halleen added 18 points.

Willetton continued its strong weekend with a 73-52 win over the Cockburn Cougars 73-52 at Wally Hagan Stadium. Melissa Marsh top-scored for Willetton with 19 points while Lisa Wallburton had 18 points, 18 rebounds and seven assists.

Stephanie Jones had 17 points and 13 boards for the Cougars with Emma Pass adding 15 and Kate Fielding 13.

The Rockingham Flames beat the Stirling Senators 73-63 at Warwick Leisure Centre with Darcee Garbin scoring 21 points and pulling in 19 boards for the Flames. Whitcomb added 21 points and 10 boards with Talisia Bourne hitting nine points.

Amber Land had 16 points and 16 boards for the Senators with Julia Bell hitting 17 points and Tegan Walker 12.
